CLAT 2025 exam on December 1; check last-minute preparation tips to score well in law entrance exam

NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities will conduct the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 on December 1, 2025. As there are around 10 days left for the CLAT 2025 exams, it is time for candidates to cover most of the syllabus and optimise their preparation strategy.

The CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted for two hours, from 2 pm to 4 pm in pen-and-paper mode. Candidates can start attempting full-length CLAT mock tests during this timeframe to familiarise themselves with the exam environment.

The CLAT 2025 registration last date was October 21 and the institute has already issued the admit card on its official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates can use their registered mobile number and password to download the CLAT 2025 admit card.

CLAT 2025: Last-minute preparation tips

Candidates going to appear for the CLAT 2025 exam can follow these last-minute preparation tips to score well in the national-level law entrance exam.

• Familiarising yourself with the CLAT exam pattern 2025 is an essential step in preparation. It provides a clear understanding of the exam format, marking scheme and sectional weightage. It also helps to identify the subject-wise topics to focus on, ensuring effective and targeted preparation.

• The CLAT 2025 exam will have five sections including English language, general knowledge and current affairs, legal reasoning, logical reasoning, and quantitative techniques. Under the new pattern, the total number of questions has been reduced from 150 to 120. As per the marking scheme, candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks are deducted for each incorrect response.

• As per the CLAT sectional weightage, legal reasoning and current affairs carries 50% of the syllabus, so candidates can devote 3-4 hours daily to these sections. Candidates can also allocate 1-2 hours daily to English and logical reasoning, as it carries 40% weightage in the CLAT entrance exam.

• In the final days of preparation, it is more effective to focus on important topics from the CLAT syllabus rather than trying to cover the entire syllabus. Candidates should also refrain from introducing new study materials at this stage, as it may lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety.

• Once familiar with the CLAT 2025 exam pattern and syllabus, candidates should start attempting mock tests in their final phase of preparation. Mock tests can help to identify areas for improvement before the exam. However, taking too many mock tests can sometimes impact confidence. Candidates may reduce the frequency of mock tests once they consistently achieve satisfactory scores.
