CLAT 2026 answer key today at 5 pm; Consortium to issue UG, PG response sheets for over 90,000 candidates

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will issue the answer key today for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2026) conducted for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses. As per the CLAT answer key release date and time, the Consortium will upload the provisional key on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, at 5 pm today. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections regarding the questions or answer key through the portal between December 10 to December 12 up to 5 pm.

This year, the Consortium conducted the CLAT UG and PG entrance exam on December 7 across 156 exam centres in 25 states, 93 cities, and for Union Territories (UTs).

A total of 92,344 candidates registered for the exam, which is an increase of 17% in applications compared to the previous year.

Among them, a majority of 75,009 candidates applied for CLAT UG 2026, while 17,335 candidates registered for CLAT PG 2026. The overall male–female ratio stands at approximately 0.72:1.

The CLAT 2026 exam recorded 96.83% attendance for UG, and 92.45% for PG exam. The rise in participation is “a testament to the growing aspiration among students to secure admission to India’s premier National Law Universities (NLUs),” the Consortium said.

As per the CLAT marking scheme, both UG and PG question paper consisted of 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. While every right answer will fetch one mark, every wrong answer will attract a negative marking of 0.25 mark.

Candidates will have to pay Rs 1,000 per question as an objection fee. Students had approached the Consortium regarding this excessive fees, however, there has been no clarification on it yet.
