The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will commence the registration process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 today, August 3, 10 am. Eligible candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by participating NLUs can apply through the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, till October 31, 2026.

The consortium has announced the CLAT eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes through the national-level entrance examination.
There is no upper age limit for candidates applying for either the CLAT 2027 UG or PG examination.
As per the CLAT UG eligibility criteria, candidates applying for the undergraduate programme must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board or institution. General category candidates should have secured at least 45% marks, while SC and ST candidates must have obtained 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
Students appearing for the Class 12 board examination in 2027 are also eligible to apply. However, their admission will be subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility requirements at the time of admission. Candidates who have completed a diploma or any qualification equivalent to Class 12 can also apply.
For the postgraduate programme, candidates should have completed a 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB degree from a recognised university. General category candidates must have secured 50% marks, while SC and ST candidates require 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
Candidates appearing in the final year of the LLB programme are also eligible to register for CLAT PG 2027.

The CLAT 2027 examination is scheduled to be conducted in offline mode on December 6, 2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm. The entrance test is held for NLU admission to five-year integrated LLB programmes and LLM courses offered by the participating national law universities.
