CLAT 2023 Syllabus - Section-wise distribution of questions

• Candidates should retain the CLAT admit card duly signed by the Invigilator, as the same has to be produced at the time of admissions.
• They may retain the Question Booklet and the candidate’s copy of the OMR response sheet after the test.

Candidates shall only be allowed to carry the following items inside the test Centre:

• CLAT Admit Card (In case your photograph is not clear on the Admit Card, you shall bring a self-attested photograph);

• Candidates who arrive later than 2:15 pm will not be permitted into the hall/classroom.
• The test is for a duration of two hours and will commence sharp at 2:00 pm.

NUJS, Kolkata offers a total of 132 seats in its BA LLB programme and 85 seats in its one year LLM programme through CLAT 2023 exam. 

GNLU, Gandhinagar offers BA LLB, BCom LLB, BSc LLB, BBA LLB, and BSW LLB courses through CLAT 2023. The fee structure of GNLU Gandhinagar 2023 for undergraduate law programme is around Rs 2,52,000 and for its one-year LLM programme the fees is around Rs 2,15,600.

NLU Jodhpur seat intake capacity of all the two undergraduate degree programmes BBA LLB (Hons),  BA LLB (Hons) put together is 104 students + 16 (NRI)/NRI Sponsored). The university offers 60 seats in its one year LLM programme.

NLSIU Bangalore fee structure 2023 for BA LLB general category candidates is Rs. 3,27,815 per annum and for SC/ST candidates the fees is Rs. 3,23,815 per annum.

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) has increased the BA LLB and LLM seats again this year. As per the official brochure released by the university, it will offer 240 seats in BA LLB and 100 seats in the LLM programme. Last year, the university offered 180 seats in BA LLB and 70 seats in LLM programme.  

The total seats for UG programme offered by NLUs through CLAT 2023 are 3175, out of which 1714 are all India seats. However, total seats for LLM programme offered by NLUs through CLAT 2023 are 1132. Each question in CLAT 2023 will carry one mark. Whereas, each incorrect answer will invite a penalty of 0.25 marks. 

As per the test pattern released by the consortium, the candidates will have to answer the multiple choice questions wherein four options will be given and one out of them will be the correct answer. The MCQ-based questions will be asked from comprehension passages of 300-450 words each. 

Recently, the consortium announced a complete schedule for CLAT 2023. Candidates should refer to these dates and prepare accordingly.

The consortium has released the CLAT 2023 syllabus. It comprises five subjects from which a total of 150 questions will be asked.

A total of 22 NLUs are participating in CLAT 2023. Candidates can check the complete list below. 

Candidates will also have to give admission preferences to 22 NLUs participating in CLAT 2023. Admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes at NLUs is offered on the basis of their CLAT rank and college preferences. 

It will be released along with the CLAT admit card. Candidates will have to download the CLAT medical health certificate and carry it along with the admit card to the exam centre.

CLAT exam will be conducted on December 18, 2022, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Candidates should report to the exam centre at least 45 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

Candidates should carry the following items to their designated exam centre.

• CLAT 2023 admit card 
• A valid ID card such as voter ID, passport, Aadhar card or PAN card
• Self-health declaration 
• Blue or black ballpoint pen 
• A transparent water bottle

Candidates will be able to check the name of their designated exam centre and address on their admit card. The consortium will conduct the CLAT 2023 in more than 130 exam centres across the country. The list of exam cities is mentioned below.

Candidates should carefully check all the details mentioned on the CLAT admit card including name, date of birth and parent's name. In case of any discrepancy in the admit card, candidates should immediately contact the exam authorities and request necessary corrections.

Candidates will be required to enter their CLAT registration ID/mobile number and password to download the CLAT 2023 admit card.

The consortium has not given the CLAT admit card release time. However, based on previous years' trends, CLAT admit card 2023 is expected to be released at around 11 am.

CLAT admit card 2023 will contain important details such as the name of the candidate, roll number, exam centre address, exam timings, and exam instructions.

The consortium will issue the admit cards of CLAT 2023 tomorrow, candidates can download their admit card using their registration ID/mobile number and password.
