COMEDK UGET 2026 will conduct admissions through a single common entrance test followed by centralised counselling.

Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) has announced the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET 2026) exam date. As per the announcement, the COMEDK UGET 2026 exam for engineering courses will be conducted on May 9.
As per COMEDK, the entrance examination, which is usually held on the second Sunday of May, has been rescheduled this year due to a clash with other national-level examinations. The UGET 2026 will be held on a Saturday and will be conducted in computer-based test mode across centres in India.
COMEDK states that the exam will be organised on an all-India basis to allow candidates to appear at centres closer to their place of residence. The test will serve as the basis for admissions to more than 150 unaided private engineering colleges in Karnataka that are members of the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA).

The consortium reiterated that admissions will be carried out through a single common entrance test followed by centralised counselling, in line with Supreme Court judgments in the TMA Pai Foundation, Islamic Academy of Education, and PA Inamdar cases, which permit a common entrance test that is fair, transparent, and non-exploitative.
COMEDK said that the detailed calendar of events, eligibility criteria, and information brochure for UGET 2026 will be published on its official website, comedk.org, in due course. COMEDK further asked candidates to rely only on the official website for updates and to avoid third-party services for application, test admission ticket downloads, counselling, and fee payment.
“It has come to our notice that even though COMEDK has cautioned them, some of the candidates are still depending upon third parties such as Internet Cafe, Education Consultants, random websites etc. for all COMEDK related activities, be it making application, downloading TAT or Rank cards, choice filling in the counseling and payment of fees,” the COMEDK said.
