COVID-19: Madhya Pradesh School Education Department said that the earlier instructions will remain for Classes 9 to 12.

NEW DELHI: The Madhya Pradesh Government, on Tuesday, announced that all classes for Classes 1 to 8 will be closed till April 15 owing to the rising COVID-19 cases in the state.
The government had earlier announced that the new session will resume for Classes 1 to 8 from April 1.
Madhya Pradesh School Education Department, in a circular, said: “Based on the committee decision taken on December 4, 2020, schools were shut for Classes 1 to 8 till March 31. Considering the rising COVID-19 cases, it has been decided that schools will remain shut for Classes 1 to 8 till April 15, 2021.”
The department also said that the earlier instructions will remain for Classes 9 to 12.
States such as Chattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh already announced school closures due to rising COVID-19 cases. However, Karnataka had allowed offline classes to continue.
