NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Senior Secondary (CBSE) will conduct the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2023 tomorrow, August 20. Candidates can download the CTET 2023 admit card on the official website, ctet.nic.in. CTET 2023 Exam Live Updates

CTET 2023 will be held as a OMR-based (offline) test. The exam will be held in two shifts; shift 1 will be from 9:30 AM to 12 PM while shift 2 will be held from 2:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Candidates will have to report at the allotted examination centre by 9:30 AM for Shift 1 and before 2:30 PM for Shift 2. Those coming after will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

The candidates will have to bring the CTET 2023 admit card, along with government identity card such as Aadhaar card, voter card, driver's licence, and PAN card. Candidates who had applied for online CTET examination had been allotted examination centres nearest to the district of their present address mentioned in online form. Any request for change of city of examination will not be entertained.

The question papers of CTET 2023 will have multiple choice questions (MCQs), with four alternatives. Candidates will be awarded one mark for each correct answer but there will be no negative marking. Paper 1 will be held for a person applying for a teacher for Classes 1 to 5 while Paper 2 will be for candidates who intend to be a teacher for Classes 6 to 8. Persons applying for both category teachers will have to appear for both papers.

Paper 1 will have five sections -- child development and pedagogy, language I, language II, mathematics and environmental studies – carrying 30 questions each. Paper 2 will have four sections -- child development and pedagogy, language I, language II and mathematics and science (for maths and science teacher) or social studies (for social studies teacher). The paper will have 150 questions.

The candidates clearing the exam will able to apply for union government-run schools such Kendriya Vidayalyas and Navodya Vidayalyas. They can also apply for teachers' post in union territory school, including in Chandigarh, Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.

Candidates who will qualify CTET 2023 may also appear again for the examination for improving their score.
