CUET: UGC Chairman clarifies registration process, asks universities to register only at

NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar on Monday clarified universities that adopt the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate (UG) admissions only need to register on the National Testing Agency (NTA) website,

The UGC chairman took to Twitter to inform universities about the CUET 2022 registration process. Jagadesh Kumar said, “Would like to clarify that when Universities adopt CUET for UG admissions, they only need to register on NTA website.”

He also said that the universities do not have to pay any fees to NTA or UGC, nor do they have to sign any agreement with them.

“When students submit their CUET scores during admission, universities can verify these scores against NTA data which will be made available to them. Universities can register at,” he added.

The NTA announced on April 2 that the CUET 2022 registration will begin from April 6. According to the schedule released by the NTA, the CUET 2022 exam will be conducted in the first and second week of July 2022. Students will be able to submit the CUET 2022 application form till May 6 at

The UGC chairman had earlier informed that state universities, private universities and deemed-to-be universities can also use the CUET 2022 scores for admission.

State universities in Karnataka have today agreed to hold CUET 2022 for admission to various undergraduate programmes such as BA, BSc, BCom, he said.
