NEW DELHI: The application process for the Common University Entrance Test or CUET is underway from April 6. CUET registrations can be completed by the interested candidates on the official website - cuet.samarth.ac.in till May 22.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open a window from May 25 to 31 for candidates to correct their CUET 2022 application form. NTA will conduct the CUET examination for applicants seeking admission in UG courses at the central universities and other participating universities.
CUET is an entrance exam for candidates seeking admission to 44 central universities, 12 state universities, 10 deemed universities, and 19 private universities in different UG programmes.
On Wednesday, M Jagadesh Kumar, chairperson of the University Grants Commission, had announced that almost 10 lakh candidates have applied to take part in CUET 2022. Furthermore, more than 7 lakh applications have also been received for this exam.

CUET eligibility criteria states that candidates must have passed the Class 12th or equivalent examination or are appearing in 2022. Choice of paper in CUET 2022 will be as per the course and university the students are applying for.
To appear in CUET (UG) 2022, there is no age limit. However, candidates need to verify with the universities about any restrictions during admissions.

CUET 2022 application fees for general candidates is Rs. 650 and Rs. 600 for general-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates. The CUET application fee for PwD, SC, ST, and third gender candidates is Rs. 550. Applicants can pay the application fee for the CUET 2022 registration using a credit card, net banking, debit card, or UPI.
The CUET entrance test 2022 will be having four sections:
According to the notification released by the NTA the CUET 2022 will be conducted in two slots. The maximum duration of the first slot will be 195 minutes (3 hours 15 minutes), and the maximum duration of the second slot will be 225 minutes (3 hours 45 minutes).
Applicants can take a maximum of 4 test in Slot 1 which will be held in the morning shift. These tests include one language from Section IA, maximum of two domain specific subjects from Section II and one General Test from Section III.
The CUET 2022 examination for slot 2 will be held in afternoon and candidates can take a maximum of 5 tests in the following manner -
One language from Section IA & IB and a maximum of four domain-specific subjects from Section II.
Two languages from Section IA & IB and a maximum of three domain specific subjects from Section II
PwBD (people with benchmark disability of 40% or more) applicants who have physical limitations to write, including slowness, will have access to scribe services only. For common candidates, 45 minutes each will be given for Section 1A and 1B of the test.
PwBD candidates will, however, receive an extra 15 minutes for each section. Likewise, additional 15 minutes will be given for each domain-specific subject in Section II. Similarly, during section III, which is a general test, PwBD candidates will get an additional 20 minutes
The CUET entrance exam will be conducted in the first and second week of July. The exam will be conducted in two slots morning and evening. Timings of the morning slot is from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM and the timimgs of the evening slots are from 3:00 PM to 6:45 PM.
Slot 1 includes language (any one of the 13 languages opted in Section IA), domain specific subjects, and general test. Where as, slot 2 includes Language (any one of the remaining 12 languages opted in Section IA (if one already taken in slot 1) and 1 from Section IB - as applicable), and domain specific subjects.
NTA has released the CUET marking scheme through online mode. Candidates will get 5 marks for each correct answer. Applicanats have to be more careful while answering the questions in CUET exam 2022, because for each incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. However, if candidates leave any question unanswered no marks will be deducted from their total CUET scores.
