NEW DELHI: The Common University Entrance Test - Undergraduate (CUET) 2025 dates might be announced this month based on last year’s trends. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the exam dates along with registration date, syllabus, examination cities, list of participating universities, and changes in the exam process, if any on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.
The CUET exam, introduced two years ago, is conducted every year for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes offered by the participating central, state, deemed, and private universities across the country. Top institutions such as Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Allahabad University use CUET scores to admit students.
This year, over 11 lakh students appeared for the CUET UG 2024, most of whom were from Uttar Pradesh. Majority of the candidates took English paper. The University Grants Commission (UGC) chief M Jagadesh Kumar announced major changes in the entrance test in the last session, including hybrid mode (both online and offline), less paper choices, more test cities, and no normalisation of scores.
5,77,400 aspirants appeared for CUET PG exam held in March at 572 exam centres. Some of the toppers were Millee Jangid in English, Yash Dabbas in general, Dhruv Singla in computer science.

Since its debut, the exam has been marred with controversies such as paper leak, registration window issues, delayed admit cards, far-off centres, exam postponement, last-minute changes among others. Over the years, the exam has caused delays in admissions and loss of seats prompting several universities to look for alternatives such as separate entrance exams.
A total of 283 universities participated in the CUET UG exam while 190 took part in the CUET PG exam. More universities might join in the upcoming session about which the exam agency would inform via the official websites. Take a look at the previous session’s participating universities.
