NEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2025) exam date is expected to be announced this month, as per past trends. Engineering aspirants preparing for the exam will be informed about the reduction in JEE Main syllabus if any, registration date, and admission policy through the official notification, which will be uploaded on the portal, jeemain.nta.ac.in. The JEE Mains was held in two sessions - January and April - last year.

More than 12 lakh candidates registered for JEE Main 2024 January session 1 exams. Of which, 11,70,048 appeared for BE, BTech paper 1 in 544 centres in 291 cities, including 21 cities abroad. Engineering is the most sought after course after Class 12.
The most sought-after higher education option for Class 12 students is engineering and medicine. Clearing JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2025 is mandatory for those seeking admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) is also planning to replace Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET) with JEE for engineering and pharmacy admission from the academic year 2025, as per reports.
JEE Main Syllabus: Deleted topics
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the JEE Main 2025 exam in computer-based test (CBT) mode and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical value questions, with equal weightage to mathematics, physics, and chemistry.
However, most of the topics were removed from the JEE Main syllabus last year. Below given are subject-wise JEE Main deleted topics.

JEE Main 2025 registration date
The NTA announced the JEE Main exam dates in September last year to give students enough time to prepare for the exam and get acquainted with the exam pattern. The JEE registration link was made available on November 1 and applicants were given a time period of 30 days to complete the application process.
Candidates will be allowed to attempt JEE Main twice in a year and the best of two scores will be considered for admission. As per the last year schedule, JEE Main January session 1 exams were administered between January 27 to February 1 and JEE Main April session 2 exams were held from April 4 to 12 for BE, BTech and BArch and BPlanning papers.
