NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the Common University Entrance Test undergraduate (CUET UG 2025) exam and registration dates soon on its newly launched official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. Students seeking to pursue undergraduate (UG) courses offered at 46 central universities, state universities and other participating colleges will have to appear in CUET UG to be eligible for admission.
Last year, the NTA started the CUET UG application process on February 27. As per past trends, the CUET form is likely to be hosted soon on the official portal. University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman M Jagadesh Kumar may also announce the CUET exam date 2025 through his X account.
Students who are appearing for Class 12 board exam 2025 and those who have cleared the intermediate or equivalent examination will be eligible to appear for the exam. The CUET exam will be held in May and the results will be declared in June, as per earlier reports and previous years’ trends.

This year, the NTA will be conducting the UG entrance exam in online computer-based test (CBT) mode, the UGC chairman Jagadesh Kumar said. The exam underwent a major rejig after it faced several criticism for the lack of transparency and alleged malpractices in the exam.
In other major changes for CUET 2025, the number of subjects have been reduced from 63 to 37 and students will be given the flexibility to choose the papers appearing for even if they have not studied the subject in Class 12. Moreover, students will be allowed to select only five subjects to appear in the exam. Last year, the NTA allowed applicants to choose six subjects.
Additionally, the NTA will hold exams for all papers for a duration of 60 minutes or 1 hour, contrary to last year’s exam timings which varied for different subjects.

The CUET UG 2025 exam dates are awaited. The CUET UG 2025 exam is expected to be conducted in May or June. Last year, CUET UG exam was held from May 15 to 18 in offline format and between May 21 and 24 in online mode.
A total of 287 universities are expected to accept CUET UG 2025 scores.

The NTA has not yet announced the CUET UG 2025 registration dates. The CUET UG 2025 registration is expected to commence in the first week of March, as per past trends. Last year, the CUET UG registration commenced on February 27.
Around 14 lakh unique registrations were recorded for CUET UG last year. The NTA conducted the CUET exam in hybrid mode for 14,99,790 unique registered candidates. Date-wise number of registered and appeared candidates.

The NTA will revert back to computer-based test (CBT) for the CUET exam 2025. The CUET question paper 2025 will consist of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The CUET syllabus for the domain-specific subject will be based on the curriculum prescribed for the particular paper in the qualifying exam. CUET UG syllabus for general test and language section is given below.
General Test - General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning. Quantitative reasoning section will assess students’ knowledge in basic mathematical concepts arithmetic, algebra, geometry, mensuration, and statistics.
Language - This section will have reading comprehension based on different types of passages – factual, literary and narrative, and literary aptitude and vocabulary.
The application form for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2025) for undergraduate (UG) admissions is expected to be out soon. Students desirous of pursuing BA, BCom, BSc courses in the participating universities will have to qualify the computer-based test (CBT) likely to be held in May.
