NEW DELHI: “A complete mess” - The National Testing Agency (NTA) has so far postponed CUET 2022 phase 2 at 80 exam centres in the past three days due to technical, logistics and administrative reasons. Students and parents have been complaining about poor administration after being informed about the cancellation at the last-minute yet again.

CUET 2022 August 6 Live Updates

The first-ever Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2022) for undergraduate admission in central universities has been marred with technical glitches for the third consecutive day. This is not the first time students have raised concern about the exam. From lack of time to prepare for exams to missing details in admit cards, stress had increased manifold among students over the debut edition of the CUET-UG 2022 exam.

Coming in support of students, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “What is happening with the students of #CUET is the story of every youth of the country today.”

A large section of students were also requesting change in exam dates due to clashes with many other competitive entrance exams in addition to change in exam centres citing long distance. Heavy rain, flood situation has also forced the NTA to postpone exams in a few exam centres.

Moreover, candidates from Bihar have also taken to Twitter to point out that the Patna Bihar exam centre is not mentioned in the NTA notice on exam postponement.

Amid the chaos, the NTA has informed in its latest notice that the postponed exams will be held between August 12 to 14, 2022. However, students have also expressed concerns about admit card and clarity on the exam dates. “In case, the dates between 12-14 August 2022 are not suitable, the candidates can send an email to datechange@nta.ac.in mentioning their desired date,” the notice read. Technical glitches were reported more in Delhi exam centres, as per the August 6 NTA notice.

CUET UG 2022: Chaos, technical glitches

A CUET aspirant’s parent wrote on Twitter, “CUET is a complete mess. At my daughter’s exam centre in Rohini, kids were inside for nearly 2 hours -the exam never even started. Not allowed to leave, no info, no invigilators or teachers. No news about when exam will be held now. Same story at many centres in Delhi.”

“The way this year's board exams were conducted in two terms where there has been cases of cheating and what not it was nice for a common test for every student so no discrimination is done. But the implementation is really bad. Cuet Or not in the end students have suffered alot,” a student tweeted while answering if CUET was necessary.

“Are you surprised? Lives of students are merely a joke. Students are merely playing on their luck ??rescheduling only for limited cities does not help? There are many more students suffering whose problems are unreported just because the centre authorities are silent?” another student tweeted.

A candidate said, “Thank you sir for standing with us. We are facing a lot of difficulties yesterday when I was giving my sociology domain paper instead of it physiology paper was on the computer screen. We are mailing nta, tweeting after that also no official statement on it.”

Another aspirant called CUET a complete failure of NTA.

“NTA can't even take paper. The Invigilator taking Instagram ID and saying they will tell answer,” a student shared video.
