NEW DELHI: With just a day left for the first-ever Common University Entrance Test (CUET 2022) for undergraduate admission in central universities, students have raised concerns about missing details in the CUET admit card 2022 issued today. The University Grants Commission (UGC) chairman Jagadesh Kumar has explained about the CUET 2022 admit card release date, how to request for change in exam centre and the conduct of the exam.
Addressing the students, the UGC Chairman in a video message announced that the NTA will issue CUET admit card 2022 for phase 2 on July 31. The NTA will hold the exam for UG admission 2022 in two phases. The CUET 2022 phase 1 will begin from July 15 and phase 2 from August 4, 2022.

Kumar further explained that the NTA will conduct CUET in two phases. "In phase 1 nearly 8 lakh 10 thousand students are participating and in phase 2, 6 lakh 80 thousand students are participating. For phase 1, exams are going to start on July 15 and we have already announced for all the candidates, whether they are in phase 1 or 2, the city and exam date information.”
“And for the candidates who are going to write their CUET 2022 exam in phase 1 we have already issued their admit cards and for the candidates of phase 2, which is going to start on August 4, we will be issuing the admit cards on July 31,” he informed.
Explaining why the NTA is issuing the admit cards just only four days before the exam, the chairman said, “It is to ensure that there is good security in the entire process of conducting this computer-based examination.” It is to be noted that the CUET 2022 admit cards were issued just two days before the exam.
After anxiously waiting for the city intimation and admit cards, students have now taken to the social media demanding clarity on the missing exam centre and timing details. However, Kumar said that it is a common practice of NTA in all the exams it conducts and added, “Whether it is JEE Main 2022 or NEET exam or now in CUET, we usually issue the admit card four days before the examinations start. In this case, both for phase 1 and phase 2 we have already announced the information in which city they are going to write the exam.” CUET 2022 phase 2 admit card will be issued on July 31.

The NTA had earlier announced that it has created a unique date sheet for each candidate considering the huge number of subject combinations. The CUET 2022 city information slip will include information which was released on July 11 includes details such as CUET exam date, city allotted, subjects, language, and medium offered in slots 1 and 2.
Urging students not to panic, he further assured that , “there need not be any cause for anxiety because nearly 97-98 percent of the candidates will get the first choice of the city, but only about 2 percent of the students may not get the first choice of the city, but they will surely get the second choice of the city.”

Though 98% of the students will get the exam city of their choice, this means that of the total 8 lakh students who are going to appear in phase 1, 16,000 students will not get their prefered choice of city. If this recurs in CUET 2022 phase 2, nearly 28,000 students will not get the exam city of their choice.
He also informed the students NTA has ensured that in case of difficulty, the students can call on the NTA helpline or preferably write an email, giving the preference of CUET exam city and the details of the exam city allotted. He assured that the NTA will look into the request and change the CUET 2022 exam centre if requested.
He requested students to focus on exams as they know the exam city and exam date they are going to appear. “Don’t be anxious, you have just completed your Class 12 examination. The syllabus is also going to be restricted to the Class 12 board examination which is fresh in your minds. Therefore, focus on studying for CUET and I wish all of you success in CUET.”
