NEW DELHI: Students who appeared for the English paper of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2024 held today complained of less time, mismanagement, and chaos at the examination centres. Candidates alleged that they were given 30 minutes to write the paper instead of 45 and could not complete the exam on time. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the English paper in the second shift from 3 pm to 3:45 pm. CUET 2024 exam live.

Several examinees took to social media and said that the CUET UG 2024 May 15 English paper was lengthy and they were not given enough time to finish the test. Students alleged that their time was wasted in completing the administrative tasks such as filling the OMR sheet and other details for which they should have been provided extra minutes.

A student complained about less time and wrote on X, “Candidates must be given at least 30 minutes before the exam to fill the application number, roll number, etc. We just got 5 minutes to fill the OMR for roll number and other details. It must be at least 30 minutes because it's not possible to complete these details in 5 minutes and due to this the time for doing the MCQs gets short.”

A candidate called the exam a disaster and said in a post, “The English CUET exam today was a disaster. The center handed us the booklet and omr at 3:00 pm. 10 minutes went by to fill the one and fulfilling the signature formalities. Extra time should be allotted for these tasks considering it is an omr test and not cbt mode.”

Another candidate from Jaipur alleged that in the CUET paper conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 in Jaipur, they were given a total of 45 minutes for writing the exam including filling of the OMR sheet. They claimed that 15 minutes are always provided to fill the OMR sheet and asked to verify via the CCTV camera in the classroom.

An examinee who appeared for the CUET 2024 paper at DAV Public School, said that only 30 minutes were provided as the biometric system was not working properly.

Dismayed over the exam experience, another student said, “it has been a harrowing experience today at exam centre. Invigilators were clueless; exams began late & compensatory time was not given. To top it all, staff were arguing amongst themselves inside the examination hall - disturbing examinees.”

“Gross mismanagement of CUET UG exams held today at SD boys sr secondary school in Gurugram. Papers distributed late and no extra time given. All students at this centre could not complete their papers,” said an X user.
