NEW DELHI: The Cochin University of Science and Technology has announced the BTech Spot Admissions schedule for vacancies at Cochin University College of Engineering (CUCEK). As per the official notice, the spot admission will be based on the Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) 2024 rank list as well as qualifying exam marks.

The CUSAT will conduct the BTech spot admissions on September 13. The CUSAT 2024 BTech spot admissions round 3 is scheduled today, September 12. During spot admissions, seats that remain vacant after the regular admission process are filled. The official notice read, "In the absence of candidates with CAT 2024 rank, Candidates who do not have CAT 2024 rank can participate in the spot admission for programmes offered at CUCEK. In such cases the marks obtained in the qualifying examination will be the basis for ranking."

CUSAT Spot Admission 2024: Time and venue

For BTech Spot Admissions at CUCEK, candidates are required to register before September 13, 9 am. The CUSAT BTech spot admission registration form is available on the official website, cucek.cusat.ac.in.

Candidates are required to report for registration from 9:30am to 10:30am at CUCEK campus with original certificates. Candidates are required to adhere to this registration time slot to be eligible for participation in the spot admission process. The counseling will take place at Cochin University College of Engineering, Kuttanad Pulincunoo, Alappuzha.

CUSAT 2024 BTech Spot Admission: Fee payment

According to the CUSAT CAT counselling 2024 notice, candidates are required to pay the required fee online immediately after allotment during spot admission. Failure to do so will lead to admission cancellation. After payment, candidates can proceed with document verification and will need to pay additional fees, such as PTA, DDF, or Alumni fees

According to the official notice, if candidates who have already been allotted a seat and completed fee payment accept a spot admission to a different programme within the same fee category, their previous allotment will be automatically cancelled. If they accept a spot admission to a programme in a higher fee category, they are required to pay the balance within the given timeframe. Failure to do so will result in both the new and previous allotments being automatically cancelled.

CUSAT 2024 Spot Admission: Documents required

Candidates will require the following documents for CUSAT CAT 2024 BTech spot admission.

  • CAT 2024 admit card or online application registration confirmation page
  • Migration certificate (for students from outside Kerala state)
  • SSLC or Class 10 marksheet and pass certificate (CBSE, ICSE, etc)
  • Class 12 marksheet and pass certificate (CBSE, ICSE, etc)
  • Certificate to prove Keralite status for state merit seats
  • Transfer certificate and conduct certificate from the institution last attended (in English version)
  • Four passport size photographs of the candidate
  • Community and non-creamy layer certificate in the case of ‘SEBC’ candidates
  • Community certificate issued by the Tahsildar in the case of Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) or Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) candidates
  • Candidates seeking admission under Physically Challenged (PHC) category should produce a valid Physically Handicapped Certificate issued by the district medical board of the state to which the candidate belongs
  • If any of the above certificates are not in English or Malayalam, candidates should produce a translated version in English endorsed by a notary public
  • Two sets of self-attested copies of all original certificates or documents mentioned above
  • Proof for special reservation, if any (DAC, NRI, CGW, CHD, EWS, IDC, AND, TG, etc)
  • Annexure II declaration to be submitted by candidate stating nationality (duly filled) (only for outside Kerala candidates)
