NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government, in a circular released on Friday, extended the duration of the centrally-organized online classes for Classes 9 to 12. The Directorate of Education(DoE) said that all the schools in Delhi will remain closed till October 5.

The DoE informed that only a maximum of four online classes, with a duration of 30 minutes to 45 minutes each, will be held for these classes.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, on September 8, had allowed the partial reopening of schools from September 21 onwards.

The government also instructed schools to “start online classes at their own level”.

DoE, in the circular, said: “In addition to the daily 2-3 subject specific worksheets currently being developed centrally and disseminated by the class/subject teachers to their respective students, the schools should also start online classes at their own level.”

“Currently online classes for XI and XII are being conducted centrally in 12 and 16 subjects respectively per week. In addition to these, Heads of all the schools are required to organize Online Classes at the school level, for those subjects that are not covered in centrally organized classes,” the DoE added.
