Delhi school summer vacation 2026 dates out; remedial classes for Class 9, 10, 12 from May 11

DOE Circular: Delhi schools' summer vacation 2026 will begin on May 11 and continue till June 30
The Directorate of Education (DOE) Delhi has announced the dates for the Delhi school summer vacation and remedial classes. As per the DOE circular, the Delhi summer vacations 2026 will be held from May 11 and continue till June 30.
The remedial classes for Classes 9, 10, and 11 will begin on May 11 onwards till May 23. The remedial classes will be held in schools, depending upon the availability of teachers and school premises, as per feasibility, the DOE notice said.
As per the official DOE circular , teachers should give individual attention to ensure improvement in students' learning outcomes. In addition, library facilities must remain open for self-study and book issuance, and heads of schools must ensure the availability of clean drinking water and basic amenities.
Guest or contract teachers who teach the relevant subjects may be assigned to remedial classes. In the absence of regular teachers, guest or contract teachers will be appointed to conduct the classes.

Delhi Schools: Remedial class timings
According to the official DOE notice, in double-shift schools, remedial classes will be conducted in separate shifts. The school timings for students and teachers will be as follows.
- For Teachers: 7:20 am to 11 am
- For Students: 7:30 am to 10:30 am

DOE: Guidelines to conduct remedial classes
For Classes 9 and 10, focus should be on science and mathematics. However, school heads may choose other subjects based on academic requirements, result analysis, and availability of subject teachers.
For Class 12, the subjects for remedial classes may be decided by the school heads as per the requirements of students.
All schools have been advised to prepare the remedial class timetable before the summer vacation begins and submit it to the concerned DDE (Zone).
Students must appear for remedial classes in school uniform, and their attendance will be marked online. Also, parental consent (NOC) must be obtained for students attending remedial classes.
