Delhi University to conduct the online classes from August 10
NEW DELHI: Delhi University (DU) will start online classes for the 2020-21 academic session for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes from August 10, it announced on Thursday.
The decision has been taken following the University Grant Commission, or UGC’s, revised guidelines on examination and academic calendar issued on July 6, 2020. “In continuation to the notification no. Acad.I/299/Academic Calendar/Revised/60 dated 01.06.2020 and considering the UGC revised guidelines on Examinations and Academic Calendar for the Universities in view of Covid-19 pandemic dated 06.07.2020” said the registrar’s statement.
Online classes of academic session 2020-2021 begin from August 10 for the third, fifth and seventh semesters of undergraduate courses and the third semester of postgraduate courses. But this is “subject to the prevailing pandemic or any other exigency”.
Earlier, UGC had issued the revised guidelines on July 6, which made it compulsory for institutions to conduct the exams by September 30.
