NEW DELHI: Delhi University (DU) has issued guidelines to all colleges and departments for conduct of events, fests and other programmes in college premises. The advisory comes days after several men were seen climbing the college walls and gates of Miranda House to witness an open Diwali fest on the campus, and allegedly indulged in "cat-calling and sexist sloganeering".

In an official statement, DU said that it has received an advisory from the police department and listed down the guidelines which are as follows:
The students of Miranda House college had shared multiple videos on social media in which some men were seen purportedly scaling the boundary wall, roaming around on the campus and raising slogans.
While police said no complaint was received till then, they responded to the social media videos saying "some students (3-4) were trying to enter the college", but they were stopped and the October 14 Diwali programme remained "incident-free".
The Delhi Commission for Women had issued a notice to the city police and Delhi University's Miranda House over the incident.
