Its bamboo skill development and research centre provides training and research facilities to encourage the use of bamboo, a locally available resource in the Konkan region. The university’s incubation centre also helps students develop business ideas and explore startup opportunities.
In collaboration with Rotary International, the university has constructed two check dams in the Lonere region. Along with 10 wells built under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the water conservation projects support water supply to more than 30 villages.
The university said these initiatives aim to connect education and research with employment opportunities and rural development.
