NEW DELHI: Delhi University and Kyungpook National University, Korea signed an agreement to promote Korean language education in both the universities today, February 26. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will remain in effect for one year and will be renewed annually for the next three years.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Professor Yogesh Singh said that this is the first step in the spirit of friendship towards mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities.

Vikas Gupta, Registrar, University of Delhi and Professor Hwang Hwa-seok, Director of the Institute for International Development, Kyungpuk National University, exchanged documents as representatives of Kyungpuk National University.

Vikas Gupta said that under this MoU , Kyungpuk National University will provide funds to Delhi University for works like renovation of language laboratory and infrastructure for the development and operation of the program.

Additionally, he has hired a Korean language instructor and has committed to offering scholarships to ten students annually from the Department of East Asian Studies. According to the agreement, they will be allowed to participate in Kyungpuk National University as student exchange.

On this occasion, Public Relations Officer Anoop Lather , Professor Nabin Panda, Head of the Department of East Asian Studies and other faculty of the Korean Section, Chairperson of International Relations Neera Agnimitra , Anil Rai, Dean International Relations (Social Sciences and Humanities) and Professor Ashutosh Bhardwaj, Dean International Relations (Science and Technology) along with other officials of International Relations were also present.
