NEW DELHI: Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) vice-president Abhi Dahiya of NSUI has filed a complaint against DUSU President Tushar Dedha of ABVP. As per the complaint, present DUSU President has used illegal means to get admission and produced false affidavit for contesting election.

Tushar Dedha allegedly possesses two Class 12 mark sheets from different boards, both obtained in 2016, which violates the examination bye-laws of CBSE and the Uttar Pradesh board. Consequently, both mark sheets are deemed invalid.

"As per the record received, he has two examination certificate/marksheets of intermediate class (12") one from CBSE in Arts stream having roll no. 9130384 and the other from Madyamik Siksha Parishad Uttar Pradesh in Science stream having roll no. 0322496 District/ School code 06/1328 both passed in year 2016 as a regular student", the complaint letter read.

According to the regulations of both CBSE and the Uttar Pradesh board, regular students must have 75% attendance to be eligible for the 12th board examination, and they must not have passed equivalent exams from another board.

DUSU president Tushar Dedha, however, called the allegations an "election mandate" of the NSUI. While Dedha admitted that he has two Class 12 certificates from different boards, he claimed that he has judgments from the “Supreme Court and the High Court” validating the degrees.

“I have a judgment from the Supreme Court and High Court [validating the Class 12 certificates]. Also, where is it written that one student cannot have two separate degrees. When I was in Class 10th I didn’t live in Delhi as much. So I got the degree from both states," said Dedha.

Demands to declare Tushar Dedha election result null and void

Tushar Dedha has allegedly used illegal means and gave false facts about his qualifications to get admissions in graduation and later in post-graduation. "He has also filed a false statement and affidavit about his qualifications for the purposes of contesting election of President DUSU. By giving the wrong information, he has played fraud upon the University", the statement read.

Vice-president Abhi Dahiya demanded that Tushar Dedha election result for the post of President of DUSU should be declared as null and void as per rules and he shall also be liable for prosecuted for the committing the offences. He asked the university to take immediate action available as per rules against Tushar Dedha.
