ESIC 2018 Prelims result and cutoff announced; Mains examination to be conducted on December 15

New Delhi, November 16: Employees’ State Insurance Corporation of India (ESIC) has declared the result of ESIC 2018 prelims examination on November 16, for Social Security Officer/Manager Grade-II/Superintendent posts. The result has been declared for the examination held on November 3. ESIC Prelims result 2018 has been released in the form of roll numbers of the qualified candidates in a PDF file. According to the official data released, 6202 candidates have been shortlisted for appearing in the subsequent phase of the recruitment, which is Mains examination. ESIC has also released the cut off of ESIC 2018 for prelims exam along with the result declaration.

Apart from the result and cut off, the examination authority has also announced the date for the mains examination. As per the official notice by ESIC, the mains examination of ESIC 2018 will be held on December 15.
The result data shows that the maximum number of candidates have been shortlisted from the unreserved category – 3028 followed by OBC (1420), SC (851) and ST 228. The overall cut off for the open/unreserved category candidates in prelims exam is 71, while for OBC candidates, the overall cutoff is 66.25 out of 100 marks. The cut off for SC is 62, while the overall prelims cut off of ESIC 2018 for ST candidates is 57.50.
It must be noted that candidates have to secure the sectional as well as overall cut off of the prelims examination to be shortlisted for appearing in the mains exam.
Though ESIC shortlists candidates, 10 times the number of total vacancies from the preliminary examination for appearing in Mains exam, however, 812 more candidates than the capping of 10 times have been shortlisted for the mains test.
For the recruitment year 2018-19, the authority has declared a total of 539 vacancies for recruiting Social Security Officers/Managers Grade-II/Superintendents.
