GATE 2021: IIT Bombay to conduct remaining 10 subject-papers on Feb 13, 14

IIT, Bombay has conducted the GATE 2021 exam for a total of 17 subject-papers on February 6 and 7. The remaining 10 papers are scheduled to be conducted on February 13 and 14.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay, has conducted GATE 2021 exam for 17 papers in online mode on February 6 and 7 in two shifts. The remaining 10 subject-papers will be conducted on February 13 and 14.

As per the media reports, a total of 4.95 lakh candidates participated in the GATE 2021 examination and the average attendance was 78.1 percent. It is expected that approximately 4.2 lakh students will be appearing in the GATE 2021 exam next week.

GATE is being conducted by IIT Bombay to shortlist candidates for admission to postgraduate programmes in engineering. The marks will be considered during the PSU 2021 recruitments. GATE is jointly conducted by seven IITs at Delhi, Guwahati, Bombay, Kharagpur, Madras, Kanpur, and Roorkee and also the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

IIT Bombay has introduced two new papers this year, which include Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) in English/ Linguistics/ Economics/ Philosophy/ Sociology/ Psychology. The GATE 2021 syllabus is also revised and there is no age limit to appear for the exam. GATE 2021 scorecard will be valid for a period of three years.

Candidates who qualify GATE 2021 exam will have to apply to CCMT for NIT MTech and COAP for IIT MTech admission. They need to apply for COAP 2021 and CCMT 2021 counselling separately to get admission to the participating institutes. Also, the qualified candidates will be eligible for PSUs Recruitment 2021. The selection process will vary for participating PSUs.
