Candidates appeared for GATE 2021 Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Petroleum Engineering (PE), Environmental Science and Engineering (ES), Statistics (ST), Production Industrial Engineering (PI) in the second shift.

With the end of shift 2 at 6 pm, IIT Bombay successfully conducted the GATE exam 2021 on February 6 and 7 amid farmers' protest. Candidates will get the latest updates on GATE 2021 answer key, analysis, and paper on this page.
A total of 79.63% of candidates appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering 2021 paper in the morning session of February 6 and 7. IIT-Bombay informed indianexpress.com, a total of 1,22,029 candidates have registered for shift 3, and 1,23,768 candidates will appear for shift 4 of the engineering entrance test.
As per the analysis provided by GradeUp, “The cut-off this year expected to be around 28, last year it was 31. The paper was above moderate, and the questions were randomly selected, one or two markers were not in the proper sequence.” said Kajal Vats, community manager.
Candidates who will get a rank between 150 will be eligible for Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and for M.tech admissions, candidates will have to attain a rank between 3,000 can qualify for MTech from IITs.
According to Indian Express report, Saniya Yadav, a GATE candidate, said, “The sections like power system, electric circuits were quite difficult, and it carried most of the questions. The maths portion was tricky, but the electrical machine part was easier.”
According to candidates, the GATE Geology 2021 paper has 35 – 40 numerical answer type questions. The question paper was easy to moderate. There is no negative marking in NATs. We are expecting that cut off may be a bit higher this year.

Sachin Singh, a senior manager, programme- GATE, informed Indian Express, “While the GATE 2021 exam was much like that of last year’s. Some topics including hydrology, the strength of the material, fuel mechanics, were given lesser weightage as compared to previous years. The cut-off for civil paper can be expected to be around 28-30 for this year, much like previous years.”
According to a report of Indian Express, 77.2% attendance was recorded on the GATE 2021 day 1. IIT-Bombay informed that a total of 1,25,687 students had registered to appear for the 1st session. While in the afternoon session, a total of 1,23,712 candidates had registered out of which 78.6% appeared.

Yesterday, on February 5, IIT Bombay release the GATE travel passes for candidates to safely pass through the farmer's protest regions. Candidates ca download the same through GATE 2021 candidate login
This year, around 9 lakh candidates will appear for the GATE exam at 200 exam centres across India. GATE 2021 Exam centres outside the country were removed due to the COVID19 pandemic.
Each paper of the GATE exam 2021 will contain 15 questions on General aptitude and 85 subject questions except XE and XL papers.
The total marks of the exam are 100.
There will be negative marking of 1/3rd mark for 1 mark question and 2/3rd mark for 2 mark question.
IIT Bombay GATE 2021 is scheduled to be held on February 6, 7, 13 and 14, 2021. The exam will be held in two session Forenoon (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) and afternoon (3:00 pm to 6:00 pm)
Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least 20-30 minutes before the scheduled GATE 2021 exam time.
GATE admit card 2021 is a mandatory document that each candidate must bring while appearing for GATE exam.
