GATE 2021 website goes live, IIT Bombay is the organising institute

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will conduct the GATE 2021 exam. In a virtual, online meeting of directors of all the 23 IITs, it has been decided that IIT Bombay will be the organising institute of GATE 2021. The schedule of applications and exam has not been decided but can be expected anytime soon.

GATE 2021 website gate.iitb.ac.in is also live now. As per the earlier trends, GATE 2021 applications will be available tentatively from the first week of September, 2020. GATE 2021 exam will be conducted in the first and second week of February.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, commonly known as GATE is conducted to shortlist candidates for admission in post graduate programmes in engineering/science with scholarship/assistantship from MHRD.

GATE is conducted in eight zones across the country jointly by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras & Roorkee) with one organising institute on rotational basis. GATE 2020 was conducted by IIT Delhi on February 1, 2, 8 and 9.

GATE is regarded as one of the toughest engineering exams with pass percentage ranging from 15 to 20%. In GATE 2020, only 18.8% candidates qualified the exam.
