NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has announced the Common Seat Acceptance Portal (COAP) 2025 dates for MTech admissions and PSU recruitment through GATE 2025. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) result 2025 is available on the GOAPS portal at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. GATE cut-off 2025 has increased for civil, chemical engineering subjects.
Candidates will have to login using their credentials such as ID and password to check GATE 2025 result. The GATE scorecard 2025 will be out on March 31. Along with GATE results 2025, the IIT Roorkee will issue the GATE final answer key 2025. GATE 2025 cut-off is the minimum marks required for qualifying the exam.
GATE 2025 result has been prepared and declared on the basis of the final answer key only. Participants were allowed to challenge the GATE answer key 2025 between February 27 and March 1. The subject experts will examine the objections and release the final key with changes, if any.
According to the GATE 2025 marking scheme, candidates lose marks for wrong answers to the multiple-choice questions. The GATE 2025 question paper comprised two sections – general aptitude and candidate’s selected subject.
The difficulty level of the exam, number of students who appeared for the exam, and previous years’ trends will determine the GATE results. The examinees rated the GATE exam 2025 as overall moderate.
GATE 2025 was held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 in two shifts for 30 test papers. The GATE exam scores will be used for admission to postgraduate programmes offered by the IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), and Public Sector Undertakings (PSU) recruitment.

Pardeep Kumar the pro-vice chancellor of Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies says GATE scores serve as a gateway for admission to PG programmes such as MTech and PhD in institutions such as IITs, NITs, and IISc. Having a high GATE secures admission and makes candidates eligible for financial assistance, including scholarships and fellowships like the CSIR-JRF or UGC-NET, which support research endeavours.
According to Krishna K Warhade the director doctoral programme GATE scores play a crucial role in both research and career development opportunities. Many top-tier institutions such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other Universities require a valid GATE score for admissions to MTech or MS by research programmes. Some of India’s most renowned research institutions, IISc and IITs, have research labs and projects, many of which are open to GATE-qualified candidates as Research and Project Assistants.
He adds having a valid GATE score can grant exemption from the PhD entrance test in various UGC-recognized universities and institutes. Additionally, IITs and IISc allow GATE-qualified candidates to directly apply for PhD programs.
IITs will release the GATE college vs rank 2025 information through the official website. IIT GATE college vs rank 2025 will be determined based on COAP counselling. For now, candidates can predict their chances for IIT colleges based on previous year’s scores given below.

The GATE 2025 scorecard will be valid for three years for MTech admissions. On the other hand, GATE 2025 scorecard validity depends on the specific PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) for recruitment purposes. Most PSUs will accept only GATE 2025 score, while other may consider scores from the previous year.
Candidates who fail in the exam can apply for MTech programmes through private universities that do not require GATE scores. Many PSUs such as ISRO, BARC, and AAI, also conduct their own recruitment exams, allowing candidates to apply without GATE 2025.
The GATE result 2025 official website is gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The qualifying GATE 2025 cut-offs will also be announced on the same official website.
