GATE 2022: BDS and MPharma graduates can also appear for exam

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, will be conducting the GATE 2022 exam in online mode on February 5, 6, 12, and 13. Along with the other changes, the authorities have expanded the GATE 2022 eligibility criteria. As per the revised eligibility criteria, BDS and MPharm degrees holders can also apply and appear for the GATE 2022 exam .

The IIT Kharagpur has also introduced two new papers in GATE 2022 exam - GE (Geomatics Engineering) and NM (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering).
“The two new papers will provide direct benefits to our graduates in these two areas, especially when the country needs human resources with advanced capabilities in shipbuilding industries and geo-informatics,” Director of IIT-Kharagpur VK Tewari said to The Indian Express.
“Further, the GATE is fast acquiring a brand value and foreign universities are also utilizing the scores for their admission,” Director of IIT-Kharagpur VK Tewari added.
Last year, the authorities had relaxed the GATE eligibility criteria to allow 3rd-year students to take the exam as well. The eligibility was also limited to graduates or 4th-year students.

According to the new GATE eligibility criteria 2022, candidates who have BDS and MPharma degrees can also appear for the exam.

IIT Bombay has also introduced two new papers includes GE (Geomatics Engineering) and NM (Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering). The total number of subjects has increased to 29 now.
IIT, Kharagpur is likely to release the GATE 2022 application form date soon on the official website. Candidates need to apply for the GATE 2022 exam on or before the last date.
