Check NowNEW DELHI : The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has started the admission process for MTech programme in electrical engineering for the 2024-25 academic session. MTech admissions will be given on the basis of the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 scores. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the IISc MTech EE admissions through the official website, admissions.iisc.ac.in.

As per the information bulletin, GATE 2024 result will be declared on March 16 at gate2024.iisc.ac.in. The entrance exam for admission to MTech programmes was conducted on February 3, 4, 10, and 11.

The eligibility criteria for MTech in EE is as follows:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology or equivalent degree in engineering.
- Valid GATE score in electrical engineering discipline. Students are expected to have a strong mathematical background.
As per the selection process of IISc for the MTech programme, shortlisting of candidates for a technical interview will be done on the basis of their GATE score. The final selection will be done based on candidate's performance in GATE exam and interview.
GATE 2024: IISc admission fee
Candidates belonging to the general, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs 800 in order to apply. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates will be required to submit payment of Rs 400. The ERP candidates of all categories will have to pay Rs 2,000 while the fee for sponsored candidates is Rs 800.

IISc Bangalore informed that postgraduates of MTech in Electrical Engineering have been placed in companies such as Nvidia, Hitachi, Intel, Texas Instruments, Lam Research, Siemens, Bajaj, among others.
