GATE 2025: IIT Bombay MTech admission window opens tomorrow at 10 am; eligibility criteria
IIT Bombay MTech Admission 2025: IIT BTech graduates with a CGPA of 8 or above are exempted from qualifying GATE.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will open its MTech admissions portal tomorrow, March 27 at 10 am. As per the IIT Bombay MTech admission criteria 2025, candidates will be selected based on GATE score, written test and interview.
As per IIT Bombay MTech admission policy 2025, a valid GATE score is mandatory for admission, except for IIT graduates who meet specific criteria.
IIT Bombay MTech Admissions 2025: Eligibility criteria
The IIT Bombay MTech admission 2025 eligibility criteria are as follows
Qualifying degree
Candidates are required to have a qualifying degree in fields such as BE, BTech, BSc (Engineering), Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Planning, MSc, MCA, MBBS, BDS, BPharm, BVSc, BPTh, BOTh, BASLP, or Pharma. Degrees obtained through associate membership examinations from recognized professional bodies are also considered, provided they are approved by MoE, AICTE, UGC, or UPSC.
Marks requirements
General, EWS, OBC (NC) Candidates:
- At least 60% aggregate marks or first-class as specified by the university.
- A minimum CGPA or CPI of 6 on a 10-point scale or an equivalent score on other scales.
SC, ST, PwD Candidates:
- At least 55% aggregate marks.
- A minimum CGPA/CPI of 5.5 on a 10-point scale or an equivalent score.
Exemption from GATE
Candidates with a Bachelor’s, integrated master’s, or bachelor-master dual degree in engineering, sciences, or architecture from IITs (admitted through JEE) with a CGPA, CPI of 8.00 or above are exempt from the GATE qualification requirement. As per IIT Bombay MTech admission policy 2025, these candidates are required to appear for a written test and interview.
