Try NowThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati was scheduled to issue the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) admit card on January 2, but it has been postponed. Last year, a similar delay occurred, with the admit card release shifting from January 2 to January 7. This suggests that the GATE 2026 admit card may also be issued on January 7, 2026. However, IIT Guwahati has not yet officially confirmed the GATE 2026 admit card release date.
Once the admit card is issued, candidates can download it from the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. To download the GATE hall ticket, candidates must use their valid registration number and password.

Although the release of the GATE 2026 admit card has been delayed, the exam schedule remains unchanged. According to the schedule, IIT Guwahati will conduct the GATE 2026 exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.
GATE Mock Test 2026: Step-by-step guide
To familiarise candidates with the CBT exam format, the IIT Guwahati has activated the mock test link for the GATE 2026 exam.
- Go to the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
- Click on the “Mock Test” link at the top of the homepage.
- Find the paper name and code and click on the “Click here” link.
- Candidates do not need to enter the login details; just click the “Sign In” button.
- The actual GATE mock test will start; read the instructions and appear for the test.
The GATE exam will be conducted for 3 hours and consists of 30 questions in English. The GATE 2026 paper carries a total of 100 marks, with general aptitude (GA) common to all papers accounting for 15 marks, and the remaining 85 marks covering the specific test paper syllabus.
