Haryana to add 200 MBBS seats; 100 each at Bhiwani and Koriavas medical colleges

Haryana plans to raise total undergraduate medical seats to over 3,400 by 2029. NEET UG 2025 counselling is ongoing, with round 2 schedule to be announced on dmer.haryana.gov.in.

Enrol NowHaryana will receive an additional 200 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) seats after the National Medical Commission (NMC) approved two state medical colleges. The seats are divided equally, with 100 seats allocated to the Bhiwani Medical College and 100 seats to the Koriavas Medical College in Mahendragarh.
Health Minister Arti Singh Rao expressed gratitude to Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Chief Minister N Saini for facilitating the approval. She stated that the decision would strengthen the state’s capacity for medical education and help meet the growing demand for trained medical professionals.

The National Medical Commission has granted permission for admissions on 100-100 seats in the medical colleges located in Bhiwani and Koriavas (Mahendragarh). Health Minister @ArtiSinghRao has expressed gratitude to Union Health Minister Shri @JPNadda and Chief Minister Shri @NayabSainiBJP,” DPR Haryana posted on X.
The additional seats are expected to be offered from the upcoming academic session, although officials have not provided a formal confirmation. Admission will be open to candidates who qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and complete all required procedures in line with the state’s medical education regulations.

Haryana to raise MBBS seats to 3,400 by 2029
Haryana currently has several medical colleges across its districts. The new seats at Bhiwani and Koriavas are part of the state’s ongoing efforts to expand medical education and increase the availability of trained doctors.
According to an earlier PTI report, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that the state plans to increase undergraduate medical seats from the current 2,185 to over 3,400 by 2029. He noted that the number of medical colleges has grown from six in 2014 to 15 at present, with nine more under construction, resulting in an increase of MBBS seats from 700 in 2014 to 2,185 now.
Haryana NEET UG counselling 2025 is ongoing, with the round 1 seat allotment result announced on August 14. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Haryana, will soon announce the Haryana NEET UG counselling 2025 schedule for round 2 on the official website at dmer.haryana.gov.in.
