NEW DELHI: The Haryana education minister Kanwar Pal announced that schools will reopen for Classes 10, 11, and 12 from February 1. The Haryana education department has today issued orders to resume offline classes for students from Class 10 to 12.

According to the Haryana school reopening guidelines, only students who have taken at least the first dose of Covid vaccination will be able to attend physical classes. The schools should ensure that Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines are strictly followed on the premises.

Earlier, the state education minister said that the government is planning to reopen schools with 33% capacity on different days. However, the education minister did not mention the number of days schools will function in a week or with what capacity. The educational institutions were shut in Haryana till January 26 owing to the rise in Covid-19, Omicron cases in India. Schools, colleges also resumed online classes for students. However, now Class 10, 11 and 12 students who have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine will be able to attend physical classes from February 1.

Several states are still mulling over reopening schools as board exams 2022 are fast approaching. Delhi government will decide on offline classes in the next Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) meeting. While Karnataka government may open schools next week. The state will take a final call on January 29 (Saturday).

The Haryana government also extended Covid-related restrictions in the state till February 10.
