NEW DELHI: IIT Madras has declared the HSEE 2020 result in online mode. The result has been declared for those candidates who had taken the examination on September 9. Test takers can check their HSEE result 2020 by visiting the official website – hsee.iitm.ac.in and entering their email/log in ID and password. The IIT HSEE result 2020 has been released in the form of merit list which carries the merit ranks of the qualified candidates.
Besides checking their result or merit ranks, candidates can also download their offer letter for admissions. As a rule, candidates are allotted ranks only if they are able to secure the minimum score/pass percentage in the examination as per their category. It must be noted that the minimum marks requirement for featuring in the merit list has been revised and reduced for all categories by the IIT Madras for 2020.
According to the required marks requirement, in order to get a rank in the merit list, candidates in the general/common category candidates need to have at least 45 marks, general-EWS and OBC-NCL category needs a minimum of 40.5 percent marks, SC and ST must have at least 22.5 percent marks and PwD candidates should have a minimum of 22.5 percent marks in the HSEE 2020 exam.
Earlier, the general category candidates had to secure at least 50 percent marks, while candidates belonging to OBC, SC/ST/PwD categories needed to have a minimum of 45 percent and 25 percent marks respectively.
As the HSEE result is out now, qualified candidates have to download their offer letters and report to IIT Madras. With the reporting, they have to participate in the HSEE 2020 counselling for confirming their seat and admission.
HSEE is held every year by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras. The test is held for offering admission to 5-year integrated Master of Arts programme at the institute that offers a total of 52 seats. The 52 seats are divided equally between M.A Development Studies and M.A English programme (26 seats each).
