NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has extended the application form-filling date for the recruitment of unmarried Indian male and female candidates to join the IAF as an Agniveervayu. Eligible candidates can now apply for IAF Agniveer Vayu recruitment 2024 by August 4 by visiting the official website of IAF at agnipathvayu.cdac.in.

The IAF Agniveer 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on October 18. To register for the exam, candidates will have to pay an examination fee of Rs 550 through the official website.

Earlier, the last date for submission of the online application was July 28, 2024. “Amend to read the dates of online registration as July 8, 2024, to August 4, 2024 for July 8, 2024 to July 28, 2024,” the official notice read.

The IAF Agniveervayu selection process will involve three phases. Phase 1 will be a computer-based test (CBT), followed by a physical fitness test (PFT) and adaptability tests 1 and 2 in Phase 2, and a medical examination in Phase 3.

Candidates should be born between July 3, 2004, and January 3, 2008 (inclusive) to be eligible for the exam. If a candidate clears all stages of the selection process, the upper age limit on the date of enrollment should be 21 years.

IAF Agniveervayu Recruitment 2024: Medical standards

General medical standards for Agniveervayu male and female candidates are given below.

  • Height: Male candidates should be at least 152.5 cm tall, while female candidates should be at least 152 cm tall.

  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age.

  • Chest dimension: The minimum chest circumference for male candidates is 77 cm, with a chest expansion of at least 5 cm. Female applicants should have a well-proportioned and formed chest wall, with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cm.

  • Hearing: Candidates should have normal hearing, defined as the ability to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 metres using each ear separately.

  • Eyesight: Visual acuity should be 6/12 in each eye, correctable to 6/6. The maximum refractive error for hypermetropia is +2.0D and for myopia is -1D, with ±0.50D astigmatism for both types.
