ICFAI, two US law universities collaborate on academic, research activities

The collaboration between ICFAI Law School, William and Mary Law School, Widener University includes student exchanges, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives.

NEW DELHI: Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) Law School, part of The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education in Hyderabad, collaborates with two US law schools- William and Mary Law School and Widener University-Delaware Law School. The agreement was signed during the International Academic Leaders Meet on September 4, at ICFAI campus.

International academic leaders from law schools such as Texas A&M School of Law, University of New Hampshire-Franklin Pierce School of Law, William and Mary Law School, Widener University-Delaware Law School, Tilburg Law School, SOAS London, and Georgetown Law participated in the event. As per the ICFAI press release, the visiting international guests had an interactive session with the students and were impressed by their knowledge and eagerness to learn.

Academic and research collaboration

The collaboration aims to foster academic and research collaborations, including student exchanges, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives. The agreement for the two US universities was signed by Eileen Greena, assistant dean of Widener University-Delaware Law School, and Catherine E Stahl, director of LLM programmes at William and Mary Law School.

ICFAI's vision for global recognition

K Hariharan, associate professor, welcomed the guests and outlined ICFAI Law School's ambitious goal to become a globally recognized institution. In his address, LS Ganesh, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, stressed the importance of synergy between global and Indian higher educational institutions, especially in an age where technology is diminishing geographical boundaries. He also emphasized the significance of fostering mutually beneficial academic and research collaborations, which would benefit both students and faculty from both institutions.

Internationalization of legal education

P Ravisekhararaju, director of ICFAI Law School, emphasized that the collaboration withUS law schools marks a significant move toward the internationalization of legal education, creating numerous opportunities for all academic stakeholders and ultimately benefiting the student community. Y Pratap Reddy, dean, along with Akbar Khan, other faculty members, students, and guests, also participated in the event.
