CISCE cancels ICSE, ISC board exams 2026 in UAE; result evaluation through alternative method

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has cancelled the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) board exams 2026 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) due to security concerns. CISCE board exam results 2026 for UAE schools will be determined using a mechanism that may include the internal assessments and practical exams conducted by the schools.

CISCE has cancelled both postponed and remaining exams planned between March 16 and April 6 at UAE centres.

CISCE board initially postponed the exams in the UAE from March 2 to April 6. However, due to the instability in the Middle East, it later cancelled the exams altogether.

As per officials, the decision was made after assessing the regional situation and consulting with authorities, including the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and the Consulate General of India in Dubai. The board said that the measure was essential to safeguard students, exam personnel, and other stakeholders.

Change in ICSE, ISC board exam 2026 evaluation process

According to several media reports, CISCE chief executive and secretary Joseph Emmanuel said that CISCE results will be determined through an alternative assessment method. The details regarding the evaluation process will be announced later.

The CISCE chief executive added that the 10th and 12th board results 2026 will be announced along with the results of Indian students.

Notably, students who are dissatisfied with the results assigned through the alternative assessment system will have the opportunity to take improvement exams once the results are announced and the condition is stable, The Indian Express reported.

CISCE holds ICSE and ISC board exams 2026 at multiple international centres, including in the UAE. This year, the exams experienced disruptions affecting not only ICSE and ISC students but also those taking exams administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The CBSE board had cancelled the CBSE 10th and 12th exams 2026 being held across the Middle East countries due to escalating tensions between Iran and Israel.
