IGNOU Offers Certificate Programme in Solid Waste Management from July 2020 Session

NEW DELHI- To overcome the problems of waste management Indira Gandhi National Open University is offering a Certificate Programme in Solid Waste Management from the July 2020 session. The program is offered by the School of Interdisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies.
Objectives of the Programme
-
To sensitize the learners about the problem of waste generation and its impact on environment and human health
-
To familiarize the learners with existing legislation, knowledge and practices regarding Waste Management in the country
-
To prepare the learners with the ability to manage the solid waste effectively
Eligibility Criteria
According to the eligibility criteria for the course, the candidates must have passed 10+2
Duration of the Programme
-
The duration of the programme is minimum six months and maximum two years. It is offered through distance learning mode. The medium of instruction is Hindi.
Credits

The programme consists of 3 courses each of 6 credits
Courses
Course 1: Introduction to Solid Waste Management (6 Credits)
Course 2: Municipal, Agricultural, Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management (6 credits)
Course 3: Plastic, E waste, Biomedical and Construction and Demolition Waste management (6 Credits)
