IGNOU Offers Certificate Programme in Solid Waste Management from July 2020 Session

NEW DELHI- To overcome the problems of waste management Indira Gandhi National Open University is offering a Certificate Programme in Solid Waste Management from the July 2020 session. The program is offered by the School of Interdisciplinary and Trans-disciplinary Studies.

Objectives of the Programme

• To sensitize the learners about the problem of waste generation and its impact on environment and human health

• To familiarize the learners with existing legislation, knowledge and practices regarding Waste Management in the country

• To prepare the learners with the ability to manage the solid waste effectively

Eligibility Criteria

According to the eligibility criteria for the course, the candidates must have passed 10+2

Duration of the Programme

• The duration of the programme is minimum six months and maximum two years. It is offered through distance learning mode. The medium of instruction is Hindi.

Credits

• The programme consists of 3 courses each of 6 credits

Courses

Course 1: Introduction to Solid Waste Management (6 Credits)

Course 2: Municipal, Agricultural, Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management (6 credits)

Course 3: Plastic, E waste, Biomedical and Construction and Demolition Waste management (6 Credits)
