NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has opened the re-registration portal for January 2024. Candidates can submit the re-registration for the next year or semester and make online payment without late fee on the official website, ignou.ac.in, till January 29, 2024.

Candidates will have to first register on the IGNOU portal. On the homepage they will have to click on the ‘New Registration’ link and provide your mobile number and e-mail ID. The IGNOU will send confirmation and other important updates on the registered mobile number and e-mail ID. Those who have registered can log in using username and password.

In case you face difficulty in registering on the portal, candidates can approach your regional centre for re-setting of your account/updating email ID or mobile number, the IGNOU said.

The university has advised students to choose your courses wherever option is given carefully and read the programme guide for details of the courses on offer. Change of course at a later stage may result in loss of time available to you for your studies, it added. Please exercise due caution in making online transactions.

Fee payment

Students can make fee payment using credit or debit card and UPI, including BHIM App. Students of International division may use online payment options available to them. Do not wait for the last date for submission of your re-registration form, the university has advised.

In case online payment does not get updated, do not make the second payment immediately. Students should wait for a day, check the payment status and then make the second payment, it added.

“In case you make payment two times for the same application, one of the payments shall be refunded to your account,” the IGNOU said.

In case candidates are using third-party services (cybercafé or some other outlet) for submission of your re-registration form, ensure that the courses have been correctly chosen and payment of programme fee has been made successfully. Obtain a printout of the form submitted and payment confirmation.
