NEW DELHI: The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Bangalore hosted a graduation ceremony for the ‘Class of 2024’ today, September 16. The ceremony was attended by nearly 4,000 AI-skilled graduates from India and abroad. As per the IIIT-B notice, over 800 learners attended the ceremony at the campus, while another 3,000 joined the live stream from over different cities in India and abroad.
The ceremony hosted learners for successfully completing various online certifications and postgraduate programmes in data science, software development, machine learning and AI.
The co-founder of Sarvam AI, Vivek Raghavan, attended the ceremony as chief guest of the event.
Other distinguished guest members included co-founder and chairperson of upGrad, Ronnie Screwvala; director of IIIT-Bangalore, professor Debabrata Das; professor V Sridhar, faculty in-charge CPE at IIIT-Bangalore; commodore SR Sridhar, (retd.) registrar at IIIT-Bangalore; and professor Chandrashekar Ramanathan, dean academics at IIIT-Bangalore.

Vivek Raghavan, co-founder of Sarvam AI said: “Learning is a lifelong process. We must continuously reinvent ourselves, acquiring new skills to stay relevant”.

Ronnie Screwvala, the co-founder and chairperson of upGrad emphasised on their shared commitment to building a knowledge economy and highlighting the nearly decade-long partnership between upGrad and IIIT-B.
