IIM Ahmedabad: 137 PGPX students placed in top IT, healthcare, BFSI, consulting sectors
IIM Ahmedabad has concluded placements 2020-21 for the 15th batch of Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives. Top recruiters were from IT, healthcare, BFSI sectors.
NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has completed annual placements for the 2020-21 session for the 15th batch of its one-year Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) in July end. Around 137 PGPX students have been placed in top brands of IT, healthcare, and BFSI and consulting sectors.
Out of 137 students, 119 were facilitated through the placement system, 17 received offers on their own and 1 took up entrepreneurship, as per a statement from IIM Ahmedabad.
The annual placement process was held virtually and around 120 organizations participated offering the roles of CEO and Head of Department to the PGPX graduates. IT companies were the largest recruiter this year, hiring 37 percent of the batch followed by Healthcare, BFSI and Consulting sectors recruiting 13 percent, 12 percent and 10 percent of the PGPX students, respectively.
Top recruiters included companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, MIT Group, Indegene, OneFitPlus, Mastercard, SAP India, L&T Infotech who offered positions to the students ranging from the CEO to Operations Managers.
Other recruiters were FinIQ, RMSI, Avataar.me, KEC International, Genpact, Matter Motor Works, Axis Bank, NISG, Falkonry, Persistent System, Elastic Run, NEC, Avalara, FarEye, Decimal Technologies, Pravaig Dynamics, Searce, EPL Global, Xynteo, Merilytics Invest Punjab, Gujarat Gas, Flipkart, ICICI Bank etc.
Ankur Sinha, Chairperson of the Placement Committee said, “We had record placements for our PGPX Batch of 2021 in the history of 15 years of the programme...Despite 2020 being a COVID year that disrupted all the organizations and processes, placements at IIMA smoothly transitioned into the virtual mode and the outcomes speak of the determination, resilience and commitment of our placement team, and the faith that the recruiters have in the programme. We wish our graduates great success in their careers.”

“We have seen an increased interest from some of the well-established start-ups hiring from this programme for the senior management roles and it was well complimented by the traditional recruiters from IT, Consulting, Pharma and Conglomerates,” Agrawal added.
