NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) announces two initiatives in line with their future growth plans. The Institute plans to redesign their official website with a new logo and reconstruct parts of the campus.
The board of governors launch these initiatives with the twin objectives aiming to ensure safety of residents on IIMA campus and facilitate the expansion of the campus infrastructure facilities as part of their goals.
In the first initiative, the new website will be designed with the idea of engaging more with prospective students, alumni, current students and faculty and reflect IIMA's research, teaching, innovation while maintaining the global image of the institute.

IIMA website redesign
The key features of the website redesign includes a bold user interface highlighting the important aspects of the Institute, a responsive fluid design supporting all internet browsers, intuitive user experience similar to that of publication and news portals and a global design language and responsiveness to smart devices.
The website will be built on a robust platform to make it future ready, have a simplified navigation that can be used across all device and a user portal for paperless interaction between faculty and administration.
The IIMA logo will be a single wordmark with a Sanskrit inscription Vidya Viniyogadvikasa that means development through the distribution or application of knowledge. The logo will also refresh the 'jali’ work with clear and bold lines and curves in navy blue, which, while retaining the original aesthetics of the logo art, makes it digitally discernible on any device and adaptable to all formats.
Reconstruction of campus buildings and dorms
In addition to the website revamp, the second initiative pertains to the reconstruction of a few buildings in the old campus. These old buildings are facing structural damage, deterioration and have become uninhabitable, posing a safety concern for the campus's residents.
IIM Ahmedabad will will not continue with any further restoration of the faculty blocks, classroom complex, and dorms other than D15. Later, a request for prooposal process will be initiated for the reconstruction of the faculty blocks, classroom complex, and the peripheral dorms 16 to 18. These will have the same exterior façade, earthquake safe structure, and non-major renovation of the internal space to improve its functionality.
The other dorms will be remodeled while keeping the Louis Khan heritage and the functionality in mind.

A statement from the IIMA board of governors said: "As IIMA and its ethos shapes and adapts to global shifts, the institute felt the need to re-envision the IIMA website and renew its visual identity, which is represented by its logo. The new website embodies the IIMA brand philosophy of ‘Simple, Bold, and Global.’ After consulting with and incorporating feedback from relevant stakeholders, the logo refresh was also completed. The refreshed logo aims to convey a more vivid and vibrant brand identity while retaining all the elements of the existing IIMA logo that evoke and channel trust, authenticity, and legacy by emphasising a strong connection to Indian culture. ”
