NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) has allotted 25% weightage for Common Admission Test (CAT 2024) score in the final admission process for postgraduate programme (PGP) in management. While the aspirants await CAT results 2024, here’s the last three years’ IIM Bangalore CAT cut-off trends and details of selection process.
IIM Bangalore’ full-time MBA programme has been top ranked in India, with other three programmes appearing among the world’s top 100, according to the QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2025.
As per the IIM Bangalore admission policy, in stage one, the CAT scores 2024 will be added with the other components such as academic performance and gender diversity to calculate the pre-personal interview (pre-PI) score. CAT score will be given 55% weightage, Class 10, 12, bachelor’s degree marks, and work experience will be given 10% weightage each, and an additional 5% for gender diversity factor.
In the second and final stage, CAT score 2024 will get 25% weightage; 40% weightage for personal interview; 10% each for written ability test (WAT) and work experience; and 5% each for Class 10, 12, degree marks.
The IIM Bangalore cut-offs have slightly increased for all categories in the last three years. However, subject experts speculate that the CAT cut-off 2024 may increase as the exam was easy compared to the last two years.

In domestic admission, candidates are shortlisted to attend written test and personal interview. They will also have to submit two reference letters from persons who know them closely in terms of their academic and professional performance. The final selection is based on their performance in CAT, WAT, PI, scholastic achievement, and work experience.
