IIM CAT 2020 convenor rules out postponement of exam

Use NowNEW DELHI -CAT 2020 exam convenor, Prof. Harshal Lowalekar has ruled out reports about postponement of CAT 2020. In wake of the rise in the number of COVID 19 cases, social media platforms were buzzing with reports about the possible postponement of the Common Admission Test. However, on being asked if the CAT exam would be postponed, Prof Lowalekar said that it will be held as per the schedule that is on November 29.

CAT 2020 to be conducted as per new exam pattern
One of the significant changes that had been introduced by IIM Indore for CAT 2020 included the change in the exam pattern wherein the duration of the test has been reduced from 3 hours to 2 hours. Though there is no clarity about the total number of questions that will be asked in the CAT exam.
Previously Prof Lowalekar had said that the candidates should focus on preparation since CAT is a competitive exam and IIM Indore will not disclose how many questions will be asked in the Common Admission Test.
IIM Indore lays down Covid 19 guidelines to be followed on the day of CAT 2020 exam
Due to the prevailing situation that is caused because of COVID 19, Indian Institute of Management, Indore has laid down certain guidelines which the candidates who would be appearing for the exam have to follow. Prominent among them include mandatory wearing of masks, maintaining adequate social distance and sanitisation.
About CAT 2020
The Common Admission Test is conducted every year on a rotational basis by the IIMs in computer based mode. On the basis of the performance in the CAT exam, candidates are shortlisted for the next round of the selection process which includes group discussion, personal interview and some of the IIMs also carry out written ability test.
