According to the CAT 2022 pattern, the paper will be divided into three sections - QA, DILR and VARC. Most of the questions will be MCQ-based wherein candidates will be given options to choose from. However, there are also short answer type questions called TITA questions. TITA questions are descriptive and candidates write the answer. TITA questions are expected to be 17 from all sections. For the CAT exam 2022 and as per the CAT dress code, candidates are advised to wear slip-on shoes or slippers. Socks, cardigans/ plain pullovers/ sweaters without pockets are allowed. Jeans, trousers, pants, etc with many pockets are not allowed to wear for CAT 2022 exam

• There is negative marking of one mark for every wrong answer

• There will be no deduction of marks for unattempted questions

• Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type, thus the answers will have to be typed on the screen

IIM Bangalore provides the CAT 2022 login to the registered candidates. CAT login details are sent to the registered mobile number and email ID of candidates. • Medical certificate would be required in the case of a candidate using (a) Pacemaker or (b) implants (metal) or (c) other device(s) for medical reason(s).

No, candidates are not allowed to take calculator or any other electronic devices in CAT 2022 exam. However, there is an onscreen calculator, and candidates can use it when they need to. Candidates will also not be allowed to bring items such as smartwatch, mobile phones, sd card, cable, and so on. Read the exam instructions given in the CAT admit card carefully. Not adhering to the instructions as laid will lead you being barred from taking the CAT exam.

The paper pattern in CAT 2022 will be much like that of last year, except the number of exam cities. This year CAT will be held in 151 cities across India. CAT 2022 will be held in three sessions and the duration of the CAT exam will be 2 hours, with 40 minutes for each section. CAT exam paper will be divided into three sections:

• Quantitative Aptitude

• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning

• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

CAT 2022 is a negative marking exam and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. Each question will carry 3 marks. IIM does not define the number of questions. So it may vary than the last year (66).
