IIM Kozhikode starts registration for Yuva Sangam phase 4 for Kerala, Lakshadweep youths

A total of 35 and 10 students from Kerala and Lakshadweep, respectively, will visit Guru Ghasidas University Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode will partner with the Guru Ghasidas University (GGU Bilaspur) for a student exchange programme under the Yuva Sangam phase IV. As per the programme, 45 students from Kerala and Lakshadweep will visit Chhattisgarh. Yuva Sangam is being held under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) campaign of the education ministry.

Students of Kerala and Lakshadweep can register for the programme till February 4. Students can check the selection criteria and other information on the official website, ebsb.aicte-india.org.

Interested undergraduate, postgraduate, phd students, NSS/NYKS volunteers and youths in the age group of 18 to 30 years can register through the Yuva Sangan portal. A total of 35 youth will be selected from Kerala and 10 from Lakshadweep. The students will visit Chhattisgarh in the month of April or May. The food, travel and accommodation charges for the travelling students will be borne by the host institutes.

The exchange programme will also witness a 45-member delegation from Chhattisgarh which will be hosted by IIM Kozhikode for a five-day stay.

IIM Kozhikode director Debashis Chatterjee said, “Yuva Sangam, launched under EBSB, aligns with key themes in the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) by focusing on experiential learning and imbibing knowledge of the rich diversity of India on a first-hand basis. It is a brilliant cultural exchange opportunity for students from Kerala to join the celebration of diversity at its core wherein participants gain an immersive experience of diverse facets of life, natural landforms, development landmarks, recent achievements, and youth connect.”

Yuva Sangam is a union government initiative that focuses on organising educational-cum-cultural tours for the youth, including on-campus and off-campus students, from one state/UT to another. During the tours, multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas which are tourism, traditions, development, people-to-people connect and technology) is provided to the visiting delegation.
