IIM Lucknow invites applications for PhD programme in management; eligibility

NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has invited applications for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in management. The registration process for IIM Lucknow PhD programme 2025 is underway and the last date to register for the programme is February 23, 2025.

As per the institute, the PhD at IIM Lucknow is a full-time research-oriented programme designed to develop scholars capable of contributing to the advancement of management knowledge. The duration of the doctoral programme in management is 4.5 years. Eligible candidates can register online through the official website, iiml.ac.in.

IIM Lucknow PhD Admission 2025: Eligibility criteria

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for the PhD admission at IIM Lucknow given below.

• A Master’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. Or

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or a four-year graduate degree) with at least 65% marks. Or

• Professional qualifications like Chartered Accountant (CA), Institute of Cost and Works Accountants (ICWA), or Company Secretary (CS) with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) undergraduate degree. Or

• A two-year, three-year full-time classroom-based PGDM from any of the IIMs with a minimum CGPA of 6/10 or 60%

Candidates must also have a valid score in one of the exams, including Common Admission Test (CAT), Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Graduate Record Examinations (GRE), Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), or Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship (JRF/SRF) conducted by University Grants Commission (UGC), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), or Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), with scores from the last two years being accepted as valid.

“Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be shortlisted based on their exam scores and invited for a selection interview. Candidates holding qualifications from IIMs may be exempt from taking an exam and can apply directly,” the official press release read.

IIM Lucknow PhD Programme 2025: Benefits to scholars

According to the official press release, IIM Lucknow will provide tuition waivers and semi-furnished accommodation for doctoral scholars. Scholars receive a monthly stipend, grants for academic needs, and a grant for computer purchases. Scholars will also receive support for travel and conference registration.

Other benefits include funding for case writing and field research, coverage of membership fees for professional societies, and reimbursement for family health insurance premiums, creating an environment supportive of research.
