IIT Delhi launches certificate programme in data science and machine learning for professionals

Download NowIndian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi has launched a certificate programme in Data Science and Machine Learning. The programme is set to begin on June 29, 2025, and is aimed at early and mid-career professionals. The six-month programme will be delivered through live online sessions conducted by faculty members from IIT Delhi.

The course is intended to equip professionals with skills in Python, machine learning algorithms, and data-driven decision-making. Participants will work with real-world datasets and engage in case studies reflecting current industry practices. “From mastering Python and machine learning algorithms to working with real-world datasets, the programme prepares participants to apply data science effectively across business functions,” the official press release said.
The programme is open to graduates and diploma holders from recognised institutions, provided they have scored at least 50 per cent in mathematics or statistics in their Class 12 examination. Participants who complete the course and maintain a minimum of 70 per cent attendance will receive a certificate from the Continuing Education Programme, IIT Delhi.

“Upon successful completion of the programme and maintaining a minimum attendance of 70 per cent, participants will receive an industry-recognised certificate from the Continuing Education Programme (CEP), IIT Delhi, enhancing their credibility and visibility in the job market,” the official press release said.
As per the institute, the curriculum of the certificate programme in Data Science and Machine Learning will include sessions on foundational and advanced topics in data science and machine learning. It also features peer learning and case-based discussions to help participants apply these concepts across different business functions. The course fee is Rs 1,50,000 plus GST.
