IIT Delhi launches online certificate course in applied data science, AI for students, working professionals

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has launched an online certificate programme in applied data science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for graduate and diploma holders. Eligible candidates can apply for IIT Delhi’s Continuing Education Programme (CEP) certificate course through the official website at ceppay.iitd.ac.in.

The classes for the IIT Delhi’s online certificate programme will begin from November 14 until July 10, 2027. The live sessions will be held on Sundays from 10 am to 1 pm.

As per the eligibility criteria, graduates and diploma holders (only 10+2+3) from a recognised university are eligible to apply.

Notably, preference will be given to graduates in computer science, IT, electronics, electrical, Physics or relevant streams. Students pursuing a graduation degree in any discipline are also eligible to apply.

IIT Delhi's 8-month online certificate course costs over Rs 1.94 lakh

The eight-month online programme is designed for working professionals. It comprises 75 hours of engaging live sessions by IIT Delhi faculty.

The curriculum covers the full spectrum of data science and AI, interactive sessions with industry experts for real-world insights, model deployment training using docker, cloud platforms, and MLOps practices.

Upon completion of the certificate programme, candidates will be awarded e-certificate by CEP, IIT Delhi. They will be given a capstone project for applying AI skills in real-world scenarios.

Including industry case studies in healthcare, finance, VLSI, and e-commerce, advanced tools and platforms including tensor flow, Google colab and docker.

They will also be given practical applications of concepts with over 40 hours of hands-on tutorials.

“The IIT Delhi’s online certificate programme will offer a comprehensive grounding in Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) principles and applications,” according to an official notification.

Apart from the Rs 1,000 application fee, the overall programme fee for the 8-month course is Rs 1.94 lakh plus 18% GST.
